A Little About Us
Here at Zia Recovery Center, our mission is to help our clients grow and achieve goals they haven’t been able to accomplish before. Ultimately, our team aims to help those who are living with addiction grow as individuals so that they succeed in life once they leave our facilities.
When we started Zia Recovery Center, we recognized that we were filling a gap in the Las Cruces community, where there were only two other offices providing addiction recovery treatment. We believe that long-term recovery is highly achievable when clients are met with individualized treatment plans, accountability, and accessible opportunities to become productive members of society. Our 4-Step Program is built around our core values, and each step serves as a building block in the recovery journey.
We are a CARF accredited treatment program and take pride in the fact that our treatment is provided by Masters Level Licensed Clinicians. We only have the most qualified team members serving our clients every single day, and we hope that everyone who walks out of our doors leaves a better person than when they came in. Through our efforts to help our clients overcome their struggles with addiction, we continue to see our local community grow stronger and more compassionate than ever before.
Our Programs
Let us first establish that we are not a self-help program. We are a community of recovered individuals whose goal is to help others in their own recovery become their best selves. Many times, addiction is the effect of underlying mental health disorders. Other times, individuals begin using substances to cope with trauma they have experienced or witnessed. When this happens, the brain and body rely on the substance for comfort, which is how addiction begins. We are an accredited and research-based substance treatment facility and highly encourage those who are struggling with addiction to seek treatment.
The first stage of our program is the Residential Ambulatory Withdrawal Program, which is a necessary chance for the body and mind to properly heal from any damage caused by substance abuse. Our clients are always welcomed by friendly and dedicated staff members who are there to help throughout the withdrawal process. These team members conduct daily assessments and medication management. Each client receives a medical assessment, and a custom withdrawal management regimen is created to provide them with the best comfort and overall ease through the difficult withdrawal process. Not to mention an on-site chef provides healthy daily meals and snacks that meet clients’ nutritional needs and any dietary restrictions.
Once the foundation for recovery is laid, and clients complete their early goals of recovery, they enter our Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP). Our PHP program consists of 15 hours of group therapy per week as well as case management, individual psychotherapy, and daily 12-Step meetings. During this stage of the program, we continue to provide medication management and daily assessments. Our clients are housed in a comfortable and cozy transitional housing environment and staff is present 24 hours a day, seven days a week. A sense of community, stability, and resiliency develops during this stage, preparing our clients for what lies ahead.
The Intensive Outpatient Program is the third step in our addiction recovery process. At Zia Recovery Center, we believe that community living is vital to receiving this level of care. During this stage of treatment, clients enter apartment-style living with their fellow peers. Here, they begin to resume typical daily activities together, like weekly grocery shopping and cooking meals. The staff remains present 24/7 as accountability partners, and clients can expect to engage in ten hours of group sessions per week and to continue their psychotherapy and case management work. Their time at our treatment facility is coming to an end, so a high priority of this step is to ensure our clients feel confident as individuals returning to society. We work with them on detailed aftercare plans and to begin obtaining employment.
The final phase in our treatment program is our Outpatient Program (OP). At this point, our clients have achieved their treatment goals and are living on their own. It is important to us that we equip everyone with the resources needed for long-term recovery. A very detailed aftercare plan is completed at this level, and clients are given the option of attending outpatient groups, individual psychotherapy, or case management. Once final goals have been established, a discharge date is set for the client. We hope each person feels a sense of accomplishment at this point – this is not an easy journey!
What’s Most Important
Throughout our treatment program, we truly believe that empathy, care, and patience go a long way. We also believe in accountability and community, and we strive for our clients to lift one another up with support both inside and outside of our facilities. Our program is made to be easy to understand, easy to continue after leaving our facilities, and most importantly, it is meant to work. Our professional and caring staff are with our clients through every single step of the recovery process. At the end of the day, we are here to help others live a happy, free, and joyous life.
